Galvanizing Operation
Galva 45 S.A. (“Galva 45”) is a French company specialising in galvanizing manufactured steel parts. The company operates a plant located in the department of Loiret, some 80 kilometres south of Paris between Orléans and Pithiviers. Galva 45 was founded in 1982 and operates one of the largest European galvanizing plants.
Nyrstar holds 66% of the Galva 45 shares. The remaining34% are held by Etablissements Jourdain S.A.
Galva 45 specialises in a variety of steel coating treatments, including galvanizing automotive parts and tubular products for use in the agricultural sector.
Nyrstar’s investment in Galva 45 has the added benefit of providing it with first-hand experience and intelligence on the most recent developments in the galvanizing industry, with an emphasis on the speciality galvanizing segment such as the automotive sector.
