Team Leader – Project Execution

Location: Clarksville

THE ROLE:

The role is accountable for managing the operations of the External Services group. Ensure all contracted work falls within the agreed upon operational health safety and environment requirements, develop detailed maintenance planning (including scoping of projects).



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage contractor compliance with Nyrstar Clarksville OHS&E policies to ensure a safe workplace where operations can be performed with minimal risk of injury or loss to self or others.
    • Assist with Formal Risk Assessments when necessary
    • Conduct Daily Safety Huddles
    • Instruct contractors in Nyrstar Stop Program
    • Daily observation/interactions of contractors following Safety policies and procedures
  • Manage contractor compliance with Nyrstar Environmental policies.
  • Manage contractor performance
    • Track contractor performance against weekly schedule
    • Track contractor manpower against weekly schedule
  • Manage and maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the department.
  • Manage the awareness and compliance of contractors working on site with all OHS&E work practices
  • Provide effective leadership that communicates direction.
  • Ensure continuous improvement for every aspect in the group.
  • Evaluate operating costs in the context of your team, and identify opportunities for lowering costs.
  • Manage contractor operations to achieve agreed upon production and performance targets.
  • Manage and develop projects from scope writing to job execution and completion.
  • Assist in the development of large Projects.
  • Oversee contractor time management.
  • Work with Operations to establish priority of emergency work with planned work and the ability to move resources as necessary.
  • Review Engineering Projects looking for unseen problems before implementing or bidding them
  • Control and provide external service support and planning for emergency jobs
  • Perform related administrative tasks
    • Print and fill out weekly time sheets for scheduled contractor jobs
    • Daily approval of each time sheet for times, materials and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience in an industrial maintenance setting preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Technical proficiencies in industrial maintenance
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Have working knowledge of Nyrstar Business system (SAP, RIMS, Etc.)
