Credit & Collections Officer

Location: Corporate Office

THE ROLE:

Responsible for handling the full cycle of the accounts receivable process. Perform required checks and reviews to ensure compliance with the Credit Risk management Policy. The function reports into the Head of Treasury & Finance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Operational core tasks
• Monitoring of the accounts receivables, initiate collection process in order to minimize DSO
• (non) Release of orders which are blocked as a result of credit check
• Maintain customer data regarding credit limits, all in line with relevant procedures
• Perform Compliance checks
• Whenever there is a procedure breach, perform a root cause analysis and suggest additional controls that can mitigate any risks identified

Financial tasks

• Reconciliation of customer accounts
• Perform monthly sub ledger to general ledger reconciliations
• Correct and timely allocation of received funds through bank statements
• Assist the accounting department with the month end closing process
• Actively manage the Factoring portfolio by interacting with bank, credit insurer, sales team and customers
• Prepare the weekly AR cash flow forecast
• Prepare and settle the utilization request with the holding

Reporting tasks

• Reporting (weekly and monthly) AR and Credit Risk reports
• Reporting on past due receivables and other relevant data and issues

Internal relationships:
Treasury and Finance Team, Accounting Department, IT, Commercial Front- and Back Office Team, Master Data, Tax, Compliance and Legal.


External relationships:

Customers, Credit Insurance, (Factoring) Bank, Auditors

  • QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

      • AR / Credit Control experience of 2 - 3 years
      • Bachelor level or similar
      • SAP AR processing experience
      • MS Excel proficiency
      • Fluent Dutch and English written and oral communication skills
      • Excellent time management skills
      • Proactive and Solution orientated
      • Accuracy with speed, attention to detail.
      • Motivated, flexible, reliable and a team player
      • Ability to work in an international environment
