Human Resources Principal

Location: Hobart
Hours: Monday - Friday

This role is based in Hobart and is supported by an experienced and engaged HR and Training team. It’s a role that offers a blend of strategic and operational responsibilities encompassing employee relations, change management, performance management, HR systems, workforce planning, a little bit of recruitment and a lot of employee engagement.

Key accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Champion organisational change programs and lead engagement activities
  • Lead role in talent management, people capability and leadership development
  • Provide a professional advisory/operational support service to Extended Leadership Team and frontline Leaders
  • Proactive and effective management of site industrial/employee relations matters, including leading Enterprise Agreement negotiations. 
  • Overall performance management system responsibility – particularly, what good looks like and how we can do it better
  • A continuous improvement focus on all facets of HR – no idea is too wild!
  • Be a coach, leader, great listener and steady pair of hands for our HR Team. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive senior generalist Human Resource experience in a range of industries/contexts (mining would be advantageous, but any equally complex business seen favorably!)
  • Experience leading organisational change projects
  • Significant influencing, negotiation, coaching and leadership development skills/ experience
  • Enterprise agreement negotiation and implementation experience
  • Knowledge of relevant HR/industrial relations legislation
  • Ability to provide HR advice and communicate effectively across all levels of our business
  • Effective analytical and decision making skills, ability to utilise systems to share insights/ take action – data driving decisions!
  • Ability to deal with the facts and influence decisions
  • Demonstrated commitment to team work
