Receptionist

Location: Hobart
Hours: Monday - Friday (Full Time)

We’ve proudly been operating in Hobart for over 100 years and our current workforce is a team of over 600 people who help deliver our zinc to global markets.  As an active member of the local community, we are focused on delivering a safe workplace, minimising our impact on the surrounding environment and partnering with other active organisations in the area.

We value the role our receptionists play in providing a positive first point of contact to callers and visitors to the Hobart Zinc Works. These interactions help us build the terrific relationship we have with our community. A master of the art of adaptive communication, you will create an impressive customer experience for diverse stakeholders including employees, contractors and a range of different visitors. You’ll be working as part of a small but mighty administrative team, and have the opportunity to build positive working relationships across all departments on site.

Reception hours are 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide a courteous and informative first point of contact for all general public and internal company phone call enquiries
  • Provide a warm and helpful welcome to all clients, customers, visitors and internal employees to the Front Office Reception Desk
  • Maintain an up to date internal telephone listing for the Nyrstar Hobart Site
  • Provide an efficient mailing service for external and internal mail
  • Manage meeting and training rooms
  • Administer various bookings and ordering, including travel coordination
  • Data Entry
  • Provide a broad range of administrative support as a key member of the site’s Administration Team.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • The ability to communicate professionally and positively in a range of contexts
  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in office administration
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workflow
  • Speedy and accuarte Data Entry
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to learn new systems and software packages
  • Experience operating calmly in a busy reception
  • Aptitude for inventory management, especially a pride in tidy and efficient physical organisation
  • Proven experience building strong relationships in a customer facing role
  • Punctual and dependable in ensuring reception hours are reliably maintained
  • Track record of being a helpful and flexible member of a team
