Overview of the role

Tradesperson – Boilermakers wanted – are you our next “Superstar”?

Do you have a Fabrication Trade Qualification (minimum of Certificate III) with experience in Arc, MIG and TIG welding experience, desirably in the Mining, minerals processing or heavy industries.

You will be responsible for welding and fabrication tasks, installation, modification and commissioning of new plant and equipment. In addition, you will be responsible for all breakdown repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance activities to all equipment and plant on site and operate within an on-call roster to service the site out-of-hours.

Working on an equal time roster over 7 days of the week (working day shifts) provides a great balance between work and play, with more days off in a block than the usual 2 day weekend. Ideally the successful candidates will be residentially based or willing to relocate to Port Pirie. Nyrstar will provide support and relocation assistance.

Do you have the additional requisites of:

  • Post Trade Qualifications in related discipline and High Risk Work tickets - eg Dogging, Rigging, EWP and/or Confined space (highly desirable)
  • Understanding of engineering strategies such as condition monitoring and preventative maintenance
  • Physically fit for manual tasks
  • Self-motivated, reliable and able to work effectively under pressure whilst being a team player
