Florian von Steinkeller
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, EUROPEAN OPERATIONSFlorian von Steinkeller joined Nyrstar in June 2026 as Chief Operating Officer, European Operations.
Florian brings over 25 years of experience in the commodities industry, including 14 years with Glencore. Throughout his career, he has held senior executive positions across operational, commercial, and financial functions, with responsibility spanning the full value chain from mine to market, as well as recycling. He has a proven track record of expanding companies into new business lines and leading turnarounds, delivering step-change improvements in both financial performance and sustainability outcomes.
Over the course of his career, Florian has also held a number of board positions, including serving for more than 10 years as Chairman of the International Lead Association, of which Nyrstar is a member.
Florian holds a degree from the Hamburg School of Business Administration and postgraduate accreditation from Pearson.
