Matt Hadfield
GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERMatt Hadfield was appointed Nyrstar Group Chief Executive Officer in November 2026.
He has more than 20 years of experience across the international metals and commodities sector, with expertise spanning trading, asset management, business development, and risk management.
Prior to his appointment as Nyrstar Group CEO, Matt served as Nyrstar’s Chief Transformation Officer, in addition to his role as Head of Metals and Minerals Assets in Trafigura’s Operating Assets Division. Earlier in his Trafigura career, he was Global Head of Business Development, Global Co-Head of Lead and Zinc, and led trading and risk management activities across zinc, lead, copper, and other base metals.
Matt has worked across Europe and Asia. He also served in senior positions at ICBC Standard Bank and Standard Bank Group, where he focused on physical energy, base metals, and physical operations.
