Nyrstar appoints new Chief Executive Officer for its Australian business
Monday June 29, 2026Australia, 29 June 2026 – Nyrstar, an international producer of critical and strategic minerals and metals, today announced the appointment of Ms Wendy McMillan as Chief Executive Officer for its Australian business – Nyrstar Australia, as it progresses its metals modernisation program.
Ms McMillan is a highly accomplished executive with deep experience leading complex, asset‑intensive organisations. She has held senior regional leadership roles at Wabtec Corporation and Bombardier Transportation and served as CEO, Rolling Stock Development Division, Transport for Victoria (TFV), where she led large‑scale operational and business transformation programs across multi‑site operations; as well as a number of board and industry body positions, including Keppel Infrastructure Trust’s Ventura Bus opco and Government-appointed Queensland Rail. Ms McMillan will commence with Nyrstar Australia on 6 July 2026.
Nyrstar’s Global Chief Executive Officer, Guido Janssen, said Ms McMillan’s appointment comes at an important time as the company progresses its plans to modernise its multi-metals manufacturing operations in Australia.
