Our approach to sustainability reporting

We report our progress on sustainability issues at a Nyrstar Group level.

Our Group Sustainability Report includes performance of our major, wholly Nyrstar owned, operating sites. We believe that these sites encompass the material and significant risks and impacts of Nyrstar’s operations.

We use the Global Reporting Initiative’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, Version 3 (G3) as the framework for the content and quality of our Sustainability Report. We also provide our summary of the completeness of reporting against the G3 guidelines.

For relevant quantitative performance indicators, we endeavour to measure our performance where feasible, or otherwise use estimation methods that are in line with approaches used for regulatory or emission inventory reporting. We seek independent assurance for data and key statements included in our report.

Nyrstar was formed in September 2007, so our annual reporting commenced with the 2008 Sustainability Reports. These reports will be used as the basis for engaging with our stakeholders and ensuring that we meet their expectations in our future reporting.
