Lead battery recycling operation
Australian Refined Alloys Pty Ltd (ARA) is a lead acid battery recycling business, 50 per cent owned by Nyrstar and 50 per cent by the Sims Group, a recycling company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. ARA operates two lead acid battery recycling facilities: one at Alexandria in Sydney and the other at Laverton in Melbourne. Nyrstar is the operating partner.

Die-casting operation
Föhl China Co., Ltd is located in the Kaiming industrial park in the town of Taicang, 50 kilometres from Shanghai.
The plant produces custom-made zinc die-casting parts for the automotive, hardware and consumer goods industries. It is a 50/50 joint venture with Adolf Föhl Verwaltungs- und Beteiligungs GmbH. Production started in June 2006, and was expanded in 2010. Föhl is the operating partner.

Steel galvanizing business
Galva 45 S.A. (‘Galva 45’) is a French company specialising in galvanizing manufactured steel parts. Founded in 1982, the company operates a plant located in the department of Loiret, between Orleans and Pithiviers, some 80 kilometres south of Paris. Galva 45 is one of Europe’s largest galvanizing plants, with Nyrstar holding 66 per cent of the company’s shares, and Tubex S.A. holding the remaining 34 per cent.
Galva 45 specialises in a variety of steel coating treatments, including automotive parts and tubular products for use in the agricultural sector. Nyrstar is the operating partner.

Zinc alloying operation
Genesis Alloys Ningbo Ltd is a zinc die-cast alloy producer, located 20 kilometres north-west of the city of Ningbo in China’s Zhejiang province. Nyrstar owns 50 per cent of the shares, with the other 50 per cent owned by the Lee Kee Group, a metals distribution company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Genesis commenced operations in 2001 and now produces premium quality die-cast alloys for the domestic market. Nyrstar is the operating partner.
